As FarmVille has hinted at in the recent past, Truffles have now been introduced into FarmVille, and the feature slowly being rolled out to all farmers!
This feature is so new that it has MANY glitches associated with it, of all types. FarmVille is probably working on fixing them ASAP so if it is bothering you, do other farming activities for a while until it is fixed!

Visit your Pigpen, feed 'em some Slop, and send them to your neighbors' farms to find Truffles you can trade in for special items!
This new feature is used by selecting “Look Inside” on your Pigpen.
You start out with no Slop, which you will need in order to have your Pigs hunt for Truffles.

To hunt with a pig, first they'll need something to eat! Your feed trough is currently empty. Click "Make Slop" to make some more slop!
You can buy Slop in the market for 1 FVC, OR you can make it by clicking the Make Slop Button in the Pigpen “Look Inside” Window.

Make Slop Button - Shows your current amount of Slop
If you click Make Slop, the following screen will pop up. Each bushel you use will make 1 Slop. It takes 1 Slop for a Pig to hunt for Truffles. You might want to keep some bushels that you don’t use for crafting in order to “waste” them by Making Slop for your Pigs.
Once you have at least 1 Slop, you can use your Pigs to Hunt for Truffles. Clicking on a Pig will bring this up:

Piglets will hunt for Black Truffles
When you click on Hunt, they will show you a Pig Hunting to let you know that it is working on it:

Your Pig is huntin' for Truffles...

Your Piglet found Black Truffles! You can post on your neighbor's wall to let them know you found the Truffles, and they will be able to share one with you.
When you post on your neighbor’s wall, it will look something like this:

Truffle Feed Post
If your Pig does not find any Truffles, they will tell you they had no luck:

Sorry, your pig didn't find any Truffles. Try again with another pig!
Once you use a Pig to hunt for Truffles, they will go to sleep in the corner of the Pigpen (aka the Pigsty) for 2 Days, and can not be used again to hunt until those 2 Days are up.

Once a pig hunts, she'll have to rest in the Pigsty for 2 Days before the Pig can hunt again.

When you have hunted with all of your Pigs, it will let you know very clearly:
Which Pigs produce each color of Truffles:
Different Pigs will be able to hunt for different types of Truffles. According to SheepishJaina (thanks!) on the Official FarmVille Forums:
- Brown Truffles: Party Pig, Black Pig, Ossabaw, and normal Pigs
- Black Truffles: Piglet, Saddleback Pig
- White Truffles: Hot Pink Pigs
- Gold Truffles: Pot Belly Pigs, Miniature Pig
You should also check your feed for the posts that people will share when they have extra Slop:
When you accept the Slop from a post like this, you can share the Slop back with that person by posting on their wall:

Share Slop Back Feed Post
If you click on “How does this work?” this popup will come up:
It says that you can trade in Truffles for prizes, including new Pigs! If you post a Truffle to a neighbor’s wall, they will have the chance to share one back with you. If they do, you can claim the Truffle and it will go to your Gift Box. If you click Use, you will get a pig.
