Now that Co-Op Farming seems to be working for more people, here is a brief overview of the basics!
Note: Around 4/10/10, jobs started acting weird for many people. If you can’t see any jobs in your Job Window and keep getting the error for “This job can not be found” know that you are not alone! This is a FarmVille wide problem. Right now the only thing to do is to wait it out until it is fixed. I had the problem personally and it was magically fixed an hour after I tried to join some jobs – without me doing anything in particular.

By clicking the icon above your giftbox, you open the Co-Op Farming window. In this window, you can see your Friend’s Jobs (All Jobs), your Active Job, and your Job History. You can join a friend’s job by coming here and going through the pages of available Jobs. You can also start your own job by going to the last page (if there are multiple) to view all of the jobs. The last way to join a job is by clicking on a neighbor’s link from your wall feed.
You can only be involved in one job at a time. If you try to join or start a second, it will tell you that you already have a job in progress. The limit on the amount of people involved in a job is 10. The more the better, obviously!
For some people, the only planted crops that count towards the goal are ones that are planted after you start or join the job. So my suggestion would be to start or join a job right before you’re ready to plant a new batch of crops so that you maximize the time you have available to complete it! Some people say that crops they planted before participating in a job counted, so I am not sure which way FarmVille meant for it to work yet.
There are currently four jobs available to start. You can only get the item reward if you complete the gold ribbon!
As an example: Pumpkin Pie O’Plenty requires you to plant and harvest 1400 pumpkins. Pumpkins are harvest-able in 8 hours, and to get the gold ribbon, you need to harvest the 1400 pumpkins in 16 hours and you will receive 462 extra coins and 527 XP, in addition to the item reward of a Cafe Statue. There is also a silver and bronze ribbon – read the chart/spreadsheet below for the details.

A few more things:
- You must be level 20 or higher to unlock Co-Op Farming.
- Crops you plant still count towards your own mastery.
- If you want to post on your wall for help with a job again, you can click “Recruit Friends” under the tabs.
- You can quit a job at any time from the Active Job tab, but will not be able to receive the rewards if your neighbors complete it. So, even if you finish your amount of planting and harvesting and can tell they will not need any further help from you to finish, you have to stay in that job until all the harvests are complete in order to receive your reward.
- You can message your friends from the Active Job tab by clicking the “Friends” tab on the top. Any message sent through this is a post to their wall with an update on the status of the Co-Op effort.
- Your neighbors can get their neighbors (who might not be your own neighbors) to join your job, and vice versa, by posting the recruitment on their/your wall. All harvesting will count towards the completion, even if they are not your neighbors.
- The times for each medal completion are in 24 hour days rather than 23 hour days. The crop will still grow at the 23 hour day rate that they always grow at, but the time they give you is based in a 24 hour day (probably to give you a little time buffer).

Yeah! Whoever starts a job MUST be able to close out a job once it is fully seeded. Or they MUST be able to kick out latecomers. We had our crops fully seeded and someone else came in and had harvested crops that kicked out one of our group. It isn’t fair!!! I’m not going to even try to do another co op when I see how easy it is for it to be hijacked.
I’ve been doing coops and to get gold You must seed to harves on most coops. FV has recently come out with a new coop that doesn’t require this. That stinks. The idea is to coordinate the planting with your neighbors and plan in advance who will plant and who will ride. Since it isn’t necessary for 10 people to plant I ? why plant? Duh……If 3 or 4 can p[lant and harvest than 6 or 7 can plant something else and like I say ride to gold. Next coop they may plant. Now the neat thing is the airplane….however it does cost Farmville $ to use…if someone is willing to use it and go for the MVP hey let them—everyone wins….The problem comes when soemone PLANTS (SEEDS) AND FORGETS TO hARVEST. This may delay everyone from getting gold..this is where soemone must decide –use FV $ and extent or settle for nothing—silver or less
To Philly, I can understand being upset at the people who join a co-op and don’t plant or come in to a co-op after it is all planted and do nothing. I had one person with 2 FarmVille accounts join my co-op effectively blocking out my son who was delayed in joining my co-op. If I hadn’t used my plane we would have lost the gold. I did immediately delete that persons two accounts from my contact list, and was amazed at the gall when they tried to get me to add them again. As for complaining about people who use the airplane, it is a FarmVille sanctioned tool. If someone is willing to spend their own money to help bring a co-op to gold why are people whining? When the co-op is complete and they harvest their crops they are still accruing coin and mastery points AND they are able to get the Gold Reward. This is a case where one person is doing something and another person is doing nothing. Seriously who should you be annoyed with? In addition I don’t like putting a lot of work into a co-op only to have someone not harvest on time and cost us the gold. I am proud to use my flying skills to help bring in the gold and help get my friends a reward for their hard work..!!!
What I do not like is when you are working your Co-op and your Market trumps in to rob bushels from your crops. I had to replant in order to finish my Co-op job. Is there a way you can disable the market before you start your Co-op job?
do i understand that if i have a neighbor who has a plane they can come harvest my plots for co-ops. but they are paying for it with fv cash? then i have friends who ve for one or another reason dont frequent thier farm ,i lose out that no gift comes ,coop level is nil leveling up is purely if i frequent their farm. and so i am looking for freinds who like to aquire mastery or animals.
Could someone PLEASE tell me how the BUSHELS work? I am so confused….and how they work in conjunction with the market stalls, the coops, and now the new crafting goods.
FV changes things up too often for me.

The bushels you harvest go into your inventory, but those that you claim from the feed do not !! So why bother claiming OR posting ? I don’t anymore. Actually I dont post anything anymore unless I know that it directly rewards my n’bors. Most of the postings they prompt for are simply viral marketing .
Zynga needs to change the policy on co-ops. Instead of giving the option, “do you want to let your friend know you joined their co-op?,” it should be automatic that the name is posted on the co-op. That way we know who is joining and who is NOT doing their part when crops are not harvested on time. Then we can either delete those FV neighbors who continually do this and ruin it for everyone!!!
I have a question. If someone joins your co-op plants 0 and harvest 0, do they get the rewards? I’ve seen people do that on 2 co-ops.

Co-op so nobody can join without seeding …

the co op boss should be able to shut down entry once all crops are seeded. or they should have authority to kick someone out.
i just had someone join after we all had seeded our shares. somehow she joined and immediately had a large number of crops harvested.
someone else could come along with more harvested crops and prevent the rest of us from getting our crops counted.
it isn’t right!!people have no shame. they know it’s already done and still they sneak in.

f I click on the icon the box opens up normally. Then comes “loading Jobs . please wait” and when this goes away there is only the background there. Plus I cannot close the Job box either.

I can not get my co-op to open for 2 days now…what is going on? I’m also tired of the ones who join my co-op and do nothing! once is okay but when they make a habit out of it I remove them as my neighbors. I also can not get my co-op to open for 3 days, whenever i tried to open its open only blank screen of job pages. If anybody has the same problem please let me know how to solve this problem…Thanks

i have been doing farmville coops and my record is quite good…however since the other day, i cant open and join farmville coop…and this happens to my other four farmvillle accounts….what could be the problem??? PLS HELP thanks…

I have not been able to get into my job box since last Friday, so this is the 4th day, I have written to Zynga everyday, and received an automatic reply, but no solution. I have several friends who cannot get into the job box too, just wish they would fix it.
Yes, I have deleted folk for joining and NOT planting, most of these are just after a free ride and will join after the co-op is fully seeded, to me that is NOT ON… If they are a neighbour I go visit their farm, if they are not growing the required crop I write to them and tell them they are cheating, then I delete them. If you have this problem then delete them as neighbours first, then delete them as friends. Zynga should give the Starter of the co-op the power to delete any farmers joining after the co-op is fully seeded.
Finally co ops loaded for me again, but after completing in time for gold, only one member was rewarded….this has happened to me & others too many times before !! ZYNGA NEVER replies to e-mails & now with free gifts selling for big cash…I’m ready to join my 5 neighbors who have quit this game in the past month !

This makes sense!!! Can someone see any benefit to letting them in- if it doesn’t take anything away from those who can participate… maybe they are not available to be on line very much and this is the only way they can do it. (someone using a library?).
I’ll tell you what the problem is. Some of my neighbors and I work hard to set up a co op. We pre plan. We all plant as soon as the co op starts. We are all prepared to do what it takes to get the gold. Poop happens and we have extra crops planted just in case as there is a fairly large group. We don’t mind if someone joins late (after everything is all seeded) and plants. It shows they have an interest, and in a pinch will help. And sometimes this happens. This is a Co Operative, which means cooperate. Cooperate is not taking a free planting ride. You are counting on members of the co op. And yes they could take away from someone who wants to participate. I have had a similar pbms as Charlene, hers is not an isolated incident. Perhaps not of one person having two accounts, but of several leechers joining early and not planting, so individuals that wanted to actually contribute could not join. I just deleted two neighbors for leeching. This was after one member drove all the way into town to use a hot spot bc her internet at home was down, and was latter having internet pbs, so flew her crops and harvested early. And this guy wants a free ride on her back? If you use a library you could fly your crops. You could explain your situation. Most people understand. These are not the kind of people I am talking about. I sent messages, I wrote on their walls about planting, and they ignored me.
Sorry to sound so harsh about the topic. I hate to de friend people. I play fv to relax and enjoy myself. But sometimes you have to draw a line somewhere.
