Wow, what a lot of scams that have cropped up in the past couple of days. We first were attempting to address each scam, but as there are so many we want to share a couple simple ways to instead prevent ALL scams from reeling you in.
The first thing you need to check before you even click an adoption, collectible or anything on your feed for FarmVille is the application name. This can be found at the bottom and should say “Via” then the name of the application.
A real FarmVille post. Notice the Corn Icon and the via FarmVille. Make sure the F and the V in FarmVille are capitalized, this is important and can identify a fake.
A fake FarmVille post. Notice this time is says via FarmZynga. This is a spoof, also watch out for variations such as via: FarnVille, Collections, FarmVile, etc...
Many times they will be missing the corn icon in the bottom left, but most have become wiser and now have it. So from now on try this simple 2 step process:
- Check for the corn icon in the bottom left of a post. Is it there? If no it is FAKE. If yes go to step 2
- If there was a corn icon you now want to check after the time where it says “via”. Does this say via FarmVille? If it says ANYTHING else, including via via FarmVille (this is a new very tricky one, make sure it doesn’t say “via” twice! if it does, then it is FAKE), via FarnVille, via Collections, via Pink Pony, etc… then it is FAKE. Real posts ALL say via FarmVille and nothing more!
Make absolutely sure it says FarmVille, scammers are getting trickier every day in trying to make them look as close to the real posting as possible.
Now on to our second part. Should you click one you really think is real, you can tell for sure on the next screen by carefully noticing the differences.
Notice up top that there is the FarmVille bar with other Zynga games, there is also no Like button.
Notice a Like button? That is a dead giveaway that this is fake. Also notice the big ad they have trying to get you to like the page? FarmVille never does this on any of the adoption, collection or any feed posts.
Ok, so now that you know what a scam posting looks like, what do you do when you find one?
This is the fun part, you just mouse over the post on your feed, a button that says “Hide” will show up on the top right corner, click it! The post should turn into a bar like this:
The button on the left is the name of the person who has already fallen for the scam and posted it, you usually do not want to hide them. What you want is to click the middle button that says the name of the fake application. Once you click that you will no longer see that particular scam on your feed. You may find you have to do this for MANY scams.
You may also block the application by clicking the name next to “via”, this should take you to the scam page. Under the logo on the right of the page, there should be a link that says “Block Application”, just click that and you are done.

Always make sure to follow the steps detailed above this list, this is just for reference and scams will exist that are not yet on this list but can still be avoided by following the guide above!

We hope this will help you avoid posting scams to your feed, these sometimes (though rarely) contain viruses, get you to fill out personal information, cause charges to your cell phone bill and sell your personal information to other scammers.

There is one going now about the piglets and it has the word piglet in the via but I cant remember exactly what it said.might have been via piglets lol. I knew it was a scam and so didnt click it but some others did and got a lot of spam.Thanks for everything you do for us farmers.

I’ve been seeing FV Converter. Not sure if it is a scam or not
New scam I think called QUEEN BEE…looks just like the FV page, but the bottom says Queen Bee instead.
There is an obnoxious T-shirt company that posts obscene and other ads under the guise of “As a Kid I Used to Jump from Couch to Couch to Avoid the Lava”…that’s the post title. Then under that some of the T-shirt logos are pictured, some very “cute” but the majority of them are obscene…plus the comments under it are unbelievable, like “c_____g in your mouth” etc. I have some young friends that I don’t want exposed to this. When I try to “hide” it, it also hides some or all of my posts for some reason…it’s a tricky hack job if you ask me. Please investigate or turn this over to the right people.

Thanks for the info. Some of the ones I fell for had the “Allow to use information” page so I clicked Facebook and went back to my Home Page. Good to know how to get rid of these Asses! Two weeks ago after buying a building for another game with my ATM card, someone got my Account # and bought $320.00 worth of something from my card! Only way I found out so quickly was the Overdraft Notice I received in the mail!

I have seen 2 today with the same name (Pregnant Pig). Two of my friends have fallen for it. I told them that it was a fake.
I got a Neapolitan calf and didn’t have to “like” or invite friends. It worked just the same as FV usually does…
The pregnant sow will only send to the dedicated owners inbox/gift requests

Received an invite from a FV neighbor tonite for “50 Free Farmville FV Cash (Official Zynga Promotion)” — does anyone know if this is real of a scam? Thank you!
If this was an official Zynga promotion why would they take you to a page that doesn’t link to Zynga anywhere on it? If it was official would you not see it listed on the Zynga site or actual games? Seriously? After reading this post you still have to ask if it is real? Not to be rude but no wonder these scammers keep coming up with this stuff – because people will continue to fall for it.
This post should be updated. Now you can not only ignore the fake posts but also mark it as spam – which would hopefully notify Facebook so they pull these scammers off the site.

One of my neighbors has put a collectible on her wall. I know it’s a scam as it doesn’t have via FarmVille underneath. It has ” 1 Consglieri Di Farmville” I hope you get these scammers and evryone who uses them. Good Luck.

I feell for something called ” Farming Extreme Manager”. It would harvest my crops if I fell asleep or something like that. I paid my ten dollars and nothing happened. I got a “Book” on line telling me how to play. I already knew all of that. But the manager that was supposed to help me never showed. I just hope that all I lost is my ten bucks.
