Today’s update brings us all kinds of new stuff to enjoy in FarmVille. Continuing with the St. Patrick’s day and French themes we have lots of new green items and some awesome buildings. So lets start the roundup!

Gifts that are older than two weeks will now expire. Prior to this release, if you have unaccepted gifts that are more than two weeks old you will no longer be able to accept them.

New Feature: (Comment Box)
Pop up explaining a short bit about the new Comment Box
Opened Comment Box (you can type a comment and click post and add it to the box, no need to use a sign post! You can even get email for new comments and responses! Lastly there is also the option to post your comment to their Facebook wall as well if you wish.
Opened visitor tab, not showing who visited very well.
New Market Decorations:
Shamrock Barn, Shamrock Shed, Lucky Tractor, Lucky Harvester, Lucky Seeder (all do 4 plots), Shamrock Inn, Shamrock Cottage and Triple Light Post.

The only downside to all the awesomeness is that my farm keeps freezing up while I’m trying to redecorate.. lol 
The truly sucky thing about this is that the Maison needs to be finished by the 29th. The gifts disappear then…

Just discovered two new crops: chardonnay and zinfandel. I wanted to post them here even before FarmViller just because.

Beware the French Maison buildings! A lot of them are disappearing, with items inside! I lost mine and it had 9 items in it, now i’m just keeping them in my gift box or request area. :/
I like the stone wall and triple light post. I’m happy to see the Spring Pond…not holiday specific…can use whenever. Not sure yet if I’ll get the castle. If there is a green bike, I’m getting that too. YAY coins! And, I am SO HAPPY that we can build our maison if we want to save our FC!

lol, thanks for the kind words. I’m working on finding more/different smilies, these are just the default WordPress ones and I haven’t gotten around to adding more yet. I’m in love with the Spring Pond, its my favorite item released in a while, I also really liked the Flower Cart.
I think the comments box is kind of stupid. LOVE the new maison! Seriously debating spending the FC on the matching barns and stuff. sigh
I agree about the comment box. I’m sorry, but I’m not interested in who visited my friends’ farms and sent them gifts. Too much useless info for my taste.
Will they rotate the gifts for the Maison house? I thought they were going to rotate the Stable gifts, but mine never changed and apparently I have no friends that can gift boards. Also, my collectable free gift stopped changing and has been stuck on Emperor Butterfly for weeks. I’m playing on a Mac. Does that make a difference?

I’m not sure why being on a Mac would make a difference, but to answer your question, the building supplies (Maison included) shouldn’t rotate; they’ve got a parameter set to disable it. The collectable, though, should.
There tend to be things on web pages that work slightly differently on Macs than PCs (or different browsers) if they aren’t tested extensively. The collectable stopped changing when they introduced the stable gifts. Perhaps the parameter is too broad? Oh well.
My collectible has also been stuck for weeks. Strange.
I thought purchasing arborists and farmhands is old news, did I miss something?
Hopefully they will provide an explanation on Zynga forums.
What’s with the “lucky vehicles”?
Anyways, great update! I just picked up a shamrock castle from the home page – guess I am LUCKY, lol. I’m happy with gold and coin items, finally not everything is for farm cash!

The lucky Vehicles are just green, that’s pretty much it. So if you don’t want green vehicles that do 4 plots just skip them. Thanks for letting me know I screwed up!
Ok, my farmhouse is done, but it’s a bit disappointing. It’s smaller than my barn! I don’t know how to attach a pic, but it’s rather tiny!

I hope they resize it. I’m very pouty right now! I can’t even put the new lamp post close to it because it towers the house. My gnomes hat reaches the rooftop, and my goats look like they could eat the house.

I love the comment box functions, though the name & placement aren’t good at all! My neighbors & I interact, and this will help a lot. No messages get missed & they’re easier to remove. I love knowing who’s helped my farm & gifted me all in one place so it’s easier to reciprocate, and to be clear who’s participating & who’s not. The maison is nice but it’s just too much going on at once.
The abrupt gift cutoff is just outrageous. In the first place, when they make changes like this we should get some notice and a chance to close things out before it takes affect. Secondly, the only reason my redemption is behind is how often the game isn’t working combined with how little space is in the giftbox. It takes a lot of time going back and forth even if you’re not sending gifts back but if you are it can take huge time blocks. This is a problem they’ve created & exacerbated, and the solution they’ve put in place doesn’t reflect that at all. Bad call, Zynga!!
I hear ya! I was surprised how they handled this, a quick mention in the podcast would have been great. I enjoy the new Comment Box as well and agree the placement is bad… They may be re-designing the layout soon however (still a rumor) so it could get better.

Hi guys, I’m sorry this may be a bit off topic from the post (even though the new items are FANTASTIC!) but does anyone know how many people can hatch a mystery egg? I think it was originally 5 but they may have changed it.
I believe its 10, but I’m not 100% on that, I will check it out in a while and see as I’m curious as well.
The mystery eggs are 3 and the collectibles are 10.
I don’t like the Comment box -just don’t see any necessity for it at all. Never had a problem communicating with people regarding the farm, and it’s just one more thing to check – besides the gifting (regular) “special gifting” (I have 45 requests for gold that will go unfilled) – people asking for building materials for barns, stables, gold and, now, the maison-building. I tend my farm, fertilize my neighbors’ farms and feed their coops but this is almost like playing a game of begging now. Not what I had in mind when I started playing. Also, these damned things go on forever…really, don’t need a 4-week celebration (and beyond) for ANY holiday except maybe Christmas. When the holiday or event is over, so should all the associated nonsense that goes with it. Let’s move on!
I absolutely agree with you about the begging comment. These types of “events” never went on when I first started and I liked it that way.
I never understood why we couldn’t just buy a horse stable. We didn’t have to build a dairy or coop now did we?!
If it’s collecting items for a holiday, sure. If it’s something everyone will want (like a horse stable/house) they should just let us buy it for coins – not FV cash.
Now the comments that my neighbors have left me have turned into little farmers all over my farm… when I click on them I get a pop-up that says “Sign up for email to use the comment box” Are they serious???? This is beyond irritating! Level 67 and ready to quit
I hate the comment box. It gives me a comment for each square that my friend(s) fertilize. So, each friend who tends my farm comes with at least 7 comments (1 for each square they fertilize, 1 for feeding chickens, and 1 just for visiting). Now that’s seriously annoying. Also, I have friends who don’t want people to think they just sit around visiting farms all day and now won’t bother to fertilize or feed because their visits are being tracked. I think this will be counterproductive. I want it to go away.
The comments icon & box is a ridiculous idea and poorly designed. If the icon was at least semi-transparent and placed in line with the other static icons it wouldn’t be such a big deal. There is a pro though — it will help cut down my farmville addiction by a HUGH percentage. Thank you farmville!

As I said I Used to love this game before all the problems and even started a second farm: level 44, but now I have become a whiner and complainer thanks to farmville. 
I used to love this game before all the changes and of course the Constant not responding issues. This game has repeatly crashed my browsers and I installed Firefox just for the game. It also crashes my IE as well and I can’t play on my aol browser, unless I want to go in slow motion!
What I want to know is: why can’t Zynga fix ALL the problems before adding new stuff??

Oh btw…one last question: farmville posted last night that they were having connection, or should I say farmers were having connection problems, to please bear with them while they get things back to Normal….what is Normal? A day with no crashing and smooth sailing thru the game???
